Sandi Hartling is an interdisciplinary artist based out of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Her work explores the philosophical and scientific perceptions of truth and its application in systems of classification. Through performance and installation she examines conflicting interpretations of truth, accentuating the arbitrary nature of belief. Her interest in knowledge acquisition also translates into two dimensional and language based work documenting anticlimactic processes. The humour in the work is inherent; the result of a fruitless attempt to define value, creating equilibrium but never resolution.
